Ingredients

  • 3/4 lb. Italian sausage (hot or mild or ground beef)
  • 1 (1 lb.) can tomatoes, broken up
  • 3/4 tsp. dried oregano leaves
  • 1/2 tsp. dried basil leaves
  • 1/2 c. spaghetti, broken
  • 1/4 c. grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 c. chopped onion
  • 1/2 c. chopped green peppers
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/3 c. water
  • 1/4 tsp. each salt and pepper
  • 3/4 c. shredded Mozzarella cheese

Method

  • Remove sausage from casing.
  • Brown in a 9 or 10-inch skillet (or any oven-safe skillet).
  • Drain all but 1 tablespoon fat.
  • Stir in onion, green peppers and garlic.
  • Saute 5 minutes.
