Ingredients
- cucumbers, sliced lengthwise
- brine for 1 gallon
- 4 tsp. dry mustard
- 4 tsp. salt
- 4 tsp. sugar
- 1/4 tsp. alum
- 1/2 vinegar and 1/2 water to equal 1 gallon
Method
- Place cucumbers in quart jars packed tightly.
- Add brine, covering cucumbers, leaving air space.
- Let set for 3 weeks. Refrigerate before using.
