Ingredients

  • 1/4 c. warm water
  • 1 pkg. dry yeast
  • 3/4 c. lukewarm sour cream
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1/8 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 Tbsp. soft margarine
  • 3 c. flour

Method

  • Dissolve yeast in water.
  • Stir all ingredients together.
  • Turn dough onto floured surface and fold several times to smooth. Roll dough into a 24 x 6-inch rectangle. Spread 1/2 dough (lengthwise) with 2 tablespoons margarine.
  • Sprinkle with mixture of 1/3 cup brown sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon. Fold other half over. Cut into strips 1-inch wide.
  • Hold strips at both ends and twist. Place on greased cookie sheet.
  • Let rise.
  • Bake at 350° about 15 minutes. While warm, frost with powdered sugar frosting.
