Ingredients
- 1/4 c. warm water
- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 3/4 c. lukewarm sour cream
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1/8 tsp. soda
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 large egg
- 2 Tbsp. soft margarine
- 3 c. flour
Method
- Dissolve yeast in water.
- Stir all ingredients together.
- Turn dough onto floured surface and fold several times to smooth. Roll dough into a 24 x 6-inch rectangle. Spread 1/2 dough (lengthwise) with 2 tablespoons margarine.
- Sprinkle with mixture of 1/3 cup brown sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon. Fold other half over. Cut into strips 1-inch wide.
- Hold strips at both ends and twist. Place on greased cookie sheet.
- Let rise.
- Bake at 350° about 15 minutes. While warm, frost with powdered sugar frosting.
