Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 2 2/3 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/2 c. sour cream

Method

  • Beat shortening, vanilla and sugar together.
  • Add egg and beat well.
  • Add sifted dry ingredients alternately with sour cream. Roll dough 1/4-inch thick on floured surface.
  • Cut with 2-inch cutter.
  • Place on greased cookie sheet.
  • Bake at 425° about 8 minutes.
