Ingredients

  • 6 cups water
  • 1 1/2 cups split black lentils
  • 1/2 small onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 2 teaspoons white sugar
  • 2 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 2 teaspoons curry powder, or more to taste
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 (1 inch) piece fresh ginger root, chopped
  • 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream

Method

  • Combine water, lentils, onion, garlic, sugar, salt, curry powder, turmeric, and ginger root in slow cooker.
  • Cook on High for 5 hours. Stir cream into lentils until warmed through.
