Ingredients
- 2 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 egg, beaten
- 4 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
- 1 c. whole wheat flour
- 1 c. milk
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 3/4 c. margarine
Method
- Combine the flour, baking powder, sugar and cream of tartar. Cut in the margarine until the mixture resembles coarse corn meal. Add the egg and milk, stirring quickly.
- Knead lightly on floured wax paper.
- Roll or pat gently; cut into biscuits.
- Place on greased cookie sheets and bake in 450° oven for 12 to 15 minutes. Very good with bacon and scrambled eggs for breakfast.
