Ingredients
- 2 Tbsp. oil
- 2 Tbsp. flour
- 1 c. chopped onion
- 1/3 c. each chopped green onion and shallots
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 (1 lb. 12 oz.) can tomatoes
- 2 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen cut okra
- 1 small lemon, sliced
- 2 bay leaves
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. Tabasco sauce
- 2 lb. shrimp
Method
- Heat oil in large skillet; blend in flour.
- Cook over low heat until dark brown, stirring constantly.
- Add all ingredients, except shrimp; mix well.
- Bring to boil; reduce heat.
- Simmer for 35 to 40 minutes.
- Stir in shrimp.
- Cook for 10 minutes longer.
- Serve over rice.
