Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup soy sauce
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon crushed ginger (optional)
  • 1 whole broiler-fryer chicken, cut up

Method

  • Mix all liquid ingredients well and pour over chicken in skillet.
  • Fry on medium heat until chicken looks done in the middle; about 30-40 minutes.
  • Serve over white or brown rice.
  • Spoon some of the sauce over rice as desired.
  • Add cut-up orange slices to skillet for some orange flavor if desired.
  • Any combination of chicken parts will work for this recipe.
