Ingredients

  • 2 cups sesame seeds (husked)
  • 2 cups jaggery (grated)
  • 5 cardamoms (in nos)
  • 1 12 cups whole wheat flour (atta)
  • 2 teaspoons all-purpose flour (maida)
  • 12 cup dessicated dry coconut powder
  • 8 saffron strands, dissolve in
  • 1 teaspoon milk
  • oil, to roast
  • 1 pinch salt

Method

  • Mix two flours,salt with sufficient water to a fine (as puri) dough.
  • Knead well.
  • Cover it&let it stay for 1/2hour.
  • Meanwhile prepare for stuffing.
  • Roast sesame seeds till it gets good flavour,cool it&grind it along with coconut&jaggery.
  • Mix cardamom seeds directly.
  • Add dissolved saffron to this and make it equal size balls.
  • keep aside.
  • Now knead the atta dough well.
  • make it equal sized balls.
  • Roll like puris&place one sweet ball in it&cover.

  • Roll it carefully to a round roti.
  • Heat"tawa" (griddle) cook them both sides to golden brown colour,using 2 tsp oil.
  • Variation:-Can be prepared with using channadaal.
  • moongdaal,freshcoconut,suji&sugac also.
