Ingredients
- 3 c. light brown sugar
- 1 c. water
- 1 Tbsp. vinegar
- 2 stiffly beaten egg whites
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Method
- Heat brown sugar, water and vinegar gradually to a boiling point.
- Only stir until sugar is dissolved.
- Boil, without stirring, until mixture forms a hard ball when tested in cold water.
- Remove from heat and when syrup stops boiling, pour slowly into the egg whites.
- Add vanilla and beat until it stands up in little peaks when dropped on a buttered dish.
