Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c. dried apricots
  • 1 c. dried prunes
  • 1 c. dried apples
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 1/2 lemon
  • 1 tsp. ground cardamon
  • 1/3 c. quick tapioca
  • 1/4 c. raisins
  • 1/4 c. currants
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • sour cream

Method

  • Dice first 3 ingredients and cover in large pot with 10 cups of water and stand 30 minutes.
  • Add the next 4 ingredients.
  • Bring to a boil; stir and scrape bottom.
  • Simmer, stirring 10 minutes. Add currants, raisins and salt and allow to cool.
  • To thin, dilute with apple juice and serve garnished with sour cream.
  • Makes 6 to 8 servings.
