Ingredients

  • 3 large yellow or zucchini squash
  • 1 stick butter or margarine
  • 1/2 c. flour
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 c. shredded cheese
  • 1 1/2 c. milk

Method

  • Cut squash up and put in a colander for 1 hour.
  • Grease a 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan.
  • Layer squash and sprinkle with flour and cut a few slices of butter between each layer.
  • Also add salt and pepper to taste between each layer.
  • After completing each layer, pour milk in, then sprinkle cheese on top and cook at 325° for 1 hour. Serves 4 to 6.
