Ingredients

  • 4 strips bacon
  • 1 lg. onion
  • 1 c. celery
  • 1 green pepper
  • Salt & pepper
  • 2 cans green beans
  • 1/2 pound American grated cheese
  • 1 can tomatoes

Method

  • Fry bacon.
  • Remove bacon and saute/fry onions in bacon fat.
  • Add in celery, green pepper, tomatoes, salt and pepper.
  • Cook, covered, on lowest heat for 1 hour.
  • Add in cheese.
  • Place liquid removed beans in casserole dish.
  • Crumble bacon over beans and pour sauce on top.
  • Bake, uncovered, for 1 hour at 350 degrees.
  • Serves 12 people.
