Ingredients
- 1 lb. hot sausage
- 4 1/2 c. water
- 1 c. regular rice
- 2/3 c. almonds (optional)
- 2 pkg. chicken noodle dry soup mix
- 1 1/2 c. chopped celery
- 1 c. chopped green pepper
- 1 medium onion, chopped
Method
- Crumble sausage in skillet and brown.
- In saucepan, bring water to a boil; add rice and soup mix.
- Reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes or until water is absorbed.
- Add celery, onions and peppers to sausage.
- Cook until tender.
- Mix well.
- Place in casserole dish and top with almonds.
- Bake at 350° for 30 minutes.
