Ingredients
- 1 lb. raisins
- water to cover raisins
- 1 lb. beef sausage
- 2 tsp. cinnamon
- 2 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 3 c. flour
Method
- Cover raisins with water and boil 20 minutes.
- While raisins are boiling, mix sausage, cinnamon and sugar together.
- With slotted spoon, put raisins in sausage mixture (save raisin water). Measure 1 cup raisin juice (if not a cup, add water).
- Add baking soda to juice, then to sausage mixture.
- Juice will foam when soda is added.
- Add flour and mix well.
- Bake in greased and floured tube pan.
- Bake at 400° for 55 minutes or until toothpick is clean.
