Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 c. butter or margarine
  • 1 c. sour cream
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. white pepper
  • 4 c. extra sharp Cheddar cheese, grated

Method

  • Have butter at room temperature.
  • Combine with sour cream in mixer; add flour, 1 cup at a time.
  • Mix well.
  • Divide mixture into 4 equal parts.
  • Wrap each chunk with waxed paper and refrigerate until firm.
  • Roll out one chunk at a time on floured board to 15 x 6-inch rectangle.
  • Salt and pepper and sprinkle with 1 cup of cheese.
  • Roll rectangle into 15-inch roll and seal ends and pull edge along top.
  • Sprinkle with paprika.
  • Place on foil or Saran Wrap to refrigerate or freeze until use.
  • Can go from freezer to cookie sheet to oven.
  • Bake at 350° for 30 minutes, until bubbly and brown.
  • Slice in 1/2-inch pieces.
