Ingredients

  • 1 packages Tri-Coloured Artisan Pasta
  • 1 oz extra virgin olive oil, coconut oil or avocado oil
  • 2 shallots
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1 tbsp Italian seasoning
  • 4 smoked Italian sausages
  • 3 cup passata
  • 1 1/2 cup spinach
  • 1 bunch basil
  • 1 parmesan cheese
  • 1 crushed chilies (ootional)
  • 1 sea salt
  • 1 fresh cracked pepper

Method

  • Heat oil in pan and add shallots - sweat for 2 minutes.
  • Add minced garlic sweat for additional 2 minutes on medium-high heat
  • Brown the ground turkey and add Italian seasoning to meat for flavouring (approximately 7 minutes)
  • Cook pasta in a pot of salted water with olive oil per package directions
  • Add sausages to ground turkey and heat for 2 to 3 minutes
  • While meat mixture is heating through, chifinade spinach and basil before adding to sauce
  • Add passata to meat to build sauce and simmer for 10 - 12 minutes.
  • Drain cooked pasta and run under cold water to stop cooking process
  • Add pasta to sauce, toss and add salt, pepper, Parmesan cheese and chilies to taste
  • Serve and enjoy
