Ingredients
- 1 lb. sausage
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1 c. water or V-8
- 2 1/2 c. canned tomatoes
- 2 tsp. sugar
- pepper
- 1 c. uncooked rice
Method
- In a large skillet, brown and crumble sausage; drain most of fat off.
- Add onion and saute lightly.
- Add tomatoes, Worcestershire, water or V-8, salt, pepper and sugar.
- Mix well over heat until mixture comes to a boil.
- Stir in rice.
- Reduce heat to simmer; cover.
- Stir occasionally.
- Cook 25 to 30 minutes, until rice is cooked and all liquid is absorbed.
- If rice starts to dry out prior to 20 minutes, add more liquid.
