Ingredients

  • 2 c. water
  • 2 beef bouillon cubes or 2 tsp. instant broth granules
  • 1 c. dried lentils, rinsed
  • 8 oz. kielbasa (Polish sausage), cut 1/4-inch thick rounds
  • 1 c. sliced celery (2 medium-size ribs)
  • 1 c. chopped onions
  • 1 (16 oz.) can crushed tomatoes in puree
  • 1 tsp. minced garlic

Method

  • Put water and bouillon cubes in a 4-quart Dutch oven and bring to a boil over high heat.
  • While liquid comes to a boil, prepare and add all the remaining ingredients in order given.
  • Let contents of pot boil very briskly for about 30 seconds while you stir the mixture constantly.
