Ingredients
- 4 to 6 oz. cube steaks
- salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tsp. oil
- 1/2 onion, thinly sliced
- 1/2 green pepper, sliced thinly
- 4 oz. mushrooms, whole or pieces
- 2 Tbsp. chili sauce
- 1 Tbsp. mushroom juice
Method
- Season cube steaks and brown quickly on both sides in hot oil. Remove steak.
- Saute onion, green pepper and mushrooms in browned drippings until tender.
- Stir in chili sauce and juice.
- Bring to boil.
- Reduce heat, cover and simmer 5 minutes.
- Return steaks to sauce, spoon sauce on top, cover and heat thoroughly.
- Extra juice and chili sauce may not be added.
