Ingredients

  • 1 c. butter, softened
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla or rum flavoring
  • 2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 c. finely chopped red and green candied cherries
  • 1/2 c. finely chopped pecans
  • 3/4 c. flaked coconut

Method

  • In mixing bowl, cream together butter and sugar; blend in milk and flavoring.
  • Stir in flour, chopped candies and chopped pecans. Form dough into two 8-inch rolls.
  • Roll in flaked coconut to coat outside.
  • Wrap in waxed paper or clear plastic wrap.
  • Chill thoroughly.
  • Cut into 1/4-inch slices.
  • Place on ungreased cookie sheet.
  • Bake at 375° until edges are golden, 12 minutes.
