Ingredients

  • 6 green tomatoes
  • 6 green peppers
  • 6 red peppers
  • 1 c. vinegar
  • 1 c. prepared mustard
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. plain flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. celery seed
  • 1 pt. mayonnaise

Method

  • Grind peppers and tomatoes; let drain 5 minutes.
  • Mix sugar and flour together.
  • Combine all ingredients except mayonnaise.
  • Cook on top of stove 10 minutes, stirring often.
  • If desired, a double boiler can be used for cooking to avoid sticking.
  • Remove from stove and add mayonnaise.
  • Put in jars and seal; process 5 or 10 minutes in hot water bath.
  • Makes 4 pints.
