Ingredients

  • 1 quart freshly brewed tea
  • 1-1/2 orange, juiced (retain rinds)
  • 1 lemon, juiced (retain rind)
  • 1 cup sugar (or other sweetener, e.g. honey)
  • 6 cloves
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 2 cups water

Method

  • Brew the tea and set it aside.
  • Get the juice from the fruit and set it aside.
  • Put the rinds in a sauce pan with sugar, spices, and water. Experiment with the amount of sweetener. Boil in the pan for 5 minutes. Strain out the remaining liquid and dispose of rinds & spices.
  • Mix together the hot liquid, juice, and tea. Serve hot. May be refrigerated and heated in cups as needed.
