Ingredients

  • 1 c. sugar, divided
  • 1 1/2 c. water
  • 1 c. miniature marshmallows
  • 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 c. self-rising flour
  • 3 Tbsp. cocoa
  • 1/2 c. milk
  • 2/3 c. chopped pecans

Method

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine 1/2 cup sugar with the water and cook over medium to medium high heat for 10 minutes. Pour into a 2 quart casserole. Add marshmallow. These will float on top of water. In a mixing bowl, cream together the remaining sugar with the butter. Add vanilla and mix. Combine the flour with the cocoa and add to creamed mixture alternately with the milk. Drop by spoonfuls over marshmallows. Sprinkle with pecans. Bake for 45 minutes. Serve with whipped cream or Cool Whip. Also good with ice cream.
