Ingredients
- 1 c. rice, washed in cold water
- 1 tsp. salt
- 3 1/2 c. boiling water
- 1 lb. hamburger or ground beef
- 1 Tbsp. butter
- 2 to 3 medium onions, cut fine
- 2 c. chopped celery
- 1 small can mushrooms
- 3 Tbsp. soy sauce
Method
- Mix rice, salt and boiling water and let stand, covered, without stirring or boiling, while you brown the hamburger in butter, adding onions, celery, mushrooms and soy sauce.
- Combine with rice.
- Bake slowly, 1 hour, in covered casserole dish, 9 x 11-inch (Pyrex).
- Serves 8 to 10 people.
