Ingredients
- 1 large cabbage, shredded fine
- 2 large onions, sliced
- 7/8 c. sugar
- 2 tsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. dry mustard
- 1 tsp. celery seed
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 1 c. vinegar
- 3/4 c. salad oil
Method
- Alternate layers of cabbage and onion in large jar.
- Top with 7/8 cup sugar.
- Combine 2 teaspoons sugar, mustard, celery seed, salt, vinegar and salad oil.
- Bring to boil.
- Pour over cabbage. Cool.
- Cover and refrigerate at least 3 days before serving.
- The flavor improves with age.
