Ingredients

  • 3 egg whites, room temperature
  • 1 tsp. vanilla (add to egg whites)
  • 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar (add to egg whites)
  • dash of salt
  • 1 c. sugar

Method

  • Whip first 4 ingredients together gradually adding in sugar. Beat with mixer until stiff peaks form.
  • Using an ice cream scoop, place meringue balls 1 inch apart on parchment paper on cookie sheet.
  • Using the back of ice cream scoop, make an indent, making the meringue resemble nests.
  • Bake in 275° oven for 1 hour.
  • Turn off oven and let dry in oven.
  • Serve nest with one scoop of raspberry sherbet in nest with fresh fruit sprinkled over.
