Ingredients
- 3/4 c. hot water
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 3 Tbsp. Crisco
- 2 pkg. or 1 Tbsp. yeast
- 1 c. warm water
- 1 beaten egg
- 5 1/2 c. flour
Method
- Combine 3/4 cup hot water, the sugar, salt and Crisco in small saucepan.
- Heat until dissolved; cool to lukewarm.
- Dissolve the yeast in 1 cup warm water.
- Add yeast mixture and water mixture to beaten egg.
- Add 2 1/2 cups of flour and beat until smooth.
- Add enough flour (approximately 3 cups) to make soft dough.
