Ingredients

  • 25 medium sized cucumbers
  • 3 medium sized onions
  • 1/2 c. pickling salt
  • 4 c. cider vinegar
  • 5 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. turmeric
  • 1 1/2 tsp. celery seed
  • 1 1/2 tsp. mustard seed

Method

  • Slice unpared cucumbers and the peeled onions as for table use, making them thin slices (coin shape).
  • Mix all other ingredients and bring to a boil.
  • Pour over slices.
  • Using glass jars for storage, cover jars and keep refrigerated.
  • Tastes like a bread and butter pickle.
