Ingredients
- 1 pt. boiling water
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 3/4 c. shortening
- 5 to 6 c. plain flour
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 1 pkg. yeast
- 2 beaten eggs or egg substitutes
Method
- Mix first 5 ingredients.
- When mixture becomes lukewarm, add yeast, then add eggs.
- Mix well.
- Place dough in loaf pans; let rise until it doubles.
- Bake at 375° until golden brown and when tapped on top a hollow sound will result.
- Any extra dough may be stored in refrigerator for up to one week.
