Ingredients

  • 1 c. shortening
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. boiling water
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 2 pkg. yeast
  • 1 c. lukewarm water
  • 6 c. unsifted flour

Method

  • Over shortening, salt and sugar, pour boiling water.
  • Blend and cool.
  • Sprinkle yeast over warm water and dissolve. Add 2 beaten eggs and mix well with shortening.
  • Add flour, blend well and cover.
  • Place in refrigerator for at least 4 hours overnight. Make into desired shape and let rise until doubled in size.
  • Bake at 400°.
