Ingredients
- 1 medium red cabbage
- 2 Tbsp. vinegar
- 1 lb. bacon
- 1/4 c. brown sugar
- 2 Tbsp. flour
- 1/2 c. water
- 1/4 c. vinegar
- 1/8 tsp. pepper and salt
- 1 small onion, minced
Method
- Shred cabbage; put in pan with salted water to cover and 2 tablespoons vinegar.
- Heat to boiling; cover and cook until tender. Drain.
- Fry bacon until crisp; drain, keeping bacon grease in pan. Add to it brown sugar, flour, water, 1/4 cup vinegar, salt, pepper and onion.
- Cook, stirring frequently, until thick.
- Add sauce and diced bacon to cabbage.
- Stir and heat through.
