Ingredients

  • 4 c. uncooked medium-size egg noodles
  • 2 lb. ground beef
  • 1 Tbsp. butter
  • 4 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
  • 1 c. cottage cheese
  • 1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
  • 1/4 c. sour cream
  • 1/3 c. chopped scallion or onion
  • 1 Tbsp. chopped green pepper
  • 2 Tbsp. butter, melted

Method

  • Cook and drain noodles.
  • Saute beef in large skillet, using 1 tablespoon butter, until brown.
  • Stir in tomato sauce and remove from heat.
  • Set aside.
  • Combine in a bowl the cottage cheese, cream cheese, sour cream, scallion and green pepper. Using a 3-quart casserole, spread half of the noodles, then cover with the cheese mixture.
  • Add rest of noodles.
  • Pour 2 tablespoons melted butter over top of noodles.
  • Cover with meat mixture.
  • Bake, uncovered, for 30 minutes at 375°.
  • Serves 6.
