- 4 c. uncooked medium-size egg noodles
- 2 lb. ground beef
- 1 Tbsp. butter
- 4 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
- 1 c. cottage cheese
- 1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
- 1/4 c. sour cream
- 1/3 c. chopped scallion or onion
- 1 Tbsp. chopped green pepper
- 2 Tbsp. butter, melted
Method
- Cook and drain noodles.
- Saute beef in large skillet, using 1 tablespoon butter, until brown.
- Stir in tomato sauce and remove from heat.
- Set aside.
- Combine in a bowl the cottage cheese, cream cheese, sour cream, scallion and green pepper. Using a 3-quart casserole, spread half of the noodles, then cover with the cheese mixture.
- Add rest of noodles.
- Pour 2 tablespoons melted butter over top of noodles.
- Cover with meat mixture.
- Bake, uncovered, for 30 minutes at 375°.
- Serves 6.
