Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. stew meat, browned in 2 Tbsp. oil
  • 4 c. boiling water
  • 1 tsp. lemon juice
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp. paprika
  • 1 Tbsp. salt
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • dash of allspice
  • 1/2 tsp. black pepper
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar

Method

  • Pour over browned meat and simmer for 2 hours.
  • Add 6 small carrots, sliced and 3 or 4 potatoes, cubed.
  • Continue cooking until carrots and potatoes are done.
  • Make a small amount of flour and water paste and thicken juice to desired consistency.
