Ingredients

  • 2 c. seedless raisins
  • 2 c. water
  • 1/2 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 1 Tbsp. vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp. butter

Method

  • Boil raisins in 1 3/4 cups water 5 minutes.
  • Combine sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon and salt.
  • Moisten with remaining 1/4 cup cold water and add to raisins.
  • Stir until mixture boils.
  • Remove from fire and add butter and vinegar.
  • Pour into pie shell.
  • Cover top with pastry.
  • Bake in hot oven at 425° for 25 to 30 minutes.
