Ingredients
- 3 c. plain flour
- 1 c. self-rising flour
- 2 1/4 c. sugar
- 6 eggs
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. vanilla flavoring
- 2 boxes raisins
Method
- Place butter in mixing bowl in oven and warm to soften.
- Blend in sugar.
- Add eggs one at a time while mixing slowly.
- Add salt, flavoring and flour, blending well.
- Stir in raisins with mixing spoon.
- Batter will be stiff.
- This prevents raisins from settling to bottom.
- Makes a large tube cake.
- Bake at 300° for 2 hours.
