Ingredients

  • 1 1/3 c. softened margarine
  • 2 c. brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 large bag (12 oz.) chocolate chips or colored chips
  • 1 c. chopped nuts (if desired)

Method

  • Preheat oven to 375°.
  • Put margarine, sugar and eggs in mixing bowl.
  • Beat with electric mixer on medium until smooth.
  • Add flour, baking soda and vanilla; mix well.
  • Stir in chocolate chips and nuts (if desired).
  • Dough will be very stiff.
  • Spoon dough onto ungreased cookie sheet.
  • Bake for 8 to 10 minutes for soft cookies; for 10 to 12 minutes for crisp cookies.
