Ingredients

  • 1 lb. bulk sausages (meat or links)
  • 4 slices bread (your choice)
  • 1 c. grated sharp Cheddar cheese
  • 6 eggs
  • 2 c. milk
  • 1 tsp. dry mustard (optional)
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • dash of pepper

Method

  • Tear bread into pieces and place on greased baking dish (13 x 9 x 2-inch).
  • Brown sausage in skillet, then drain off fat.
  • Cut links in slices.
  • Spoon sausage over bread.
  • Sprinkle with grated Cheddar.
  • Beat together eggs, milk, dry mustard, salt and pepper. Pour over mixture in baking dish.
  • Bake in preheated 350° oven for 35 to 40 minutes.
  • Cheese will rise to top during baking.
  • This can be prepared the night before.
  • Cover and refrigerate. Breakfast cooks without effort.
