Ingredients

  • 1 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 c. Wesson oil
  • 4 large eggs
  • 3 c. sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 small can pumpkin
  • 2/3 c. water
  • 3 c. flour
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • 3/4 c. chopped nuts
  • 3 (1 lb.) coffee cans, greased and floured

Method

  • Mix nutmeg, cinnamon, Wesson oil, sugar, eggs and salt.
  • When thoroughly mixed, add rest of ingredients.
  • Mix well and pour mixture into cans until each can is approximately 3/4 full.
  • Bake at 350° for 1 hour.
  • Cool cans for 10 minutes, then turn out to finish cooling.
  • Makes 3 (1 pound) loafs.
