Ingredients
- 4 eggs
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla flavoring
- 1 c. sugar
- 2 c. milk
- 1 (9-inch) deep dish pie shell
- nutmeg (optional)
Method
- Combine eggs, salt and flavoring.
- Beat, beat, beat until mixture begins to look thick.
- Gradually add sugar and beat constantly.
- Scald milk and pour into mixture, stirring as you pour milk in.
- Pour into unbaked pie shell.
- This will seem to be too much, but add it all.
- It does not bubble or run over.
- Bake for 40 to 50 minutes at 350°.
- The pie will shake like jello when done. Sprinkle top with nutmeg if desired.
