Ingredients

  • 2 (32 oz. each) bags frozen hash browns
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 green pepper, chopped
  • 1 can pimentos (4 oz.)
  • 1/2 lb. American cheese, chopped
  • 2 slices cubed bread
  • 1 c. cornflakes, crumbled
  • 2 sticks margarine (1/4 lb. each)
  • salt and pepper

Method

  • Chop onion, green pepper and pimentos fine.
  • Crumble bread; dice cheese.
  • Mix all these ingredients with hash browns and chop in one stick of margarine.
  • Turn into buttered baking pan.
  • Melt other stick of margarine and toss with cornflakes for topping.
  • Add enough milk to fill casserole about half full.
  • Bake at 350° for 45 minutes to 1 hour.
  • Serves 20.
