Ingredients

  • 5 pork steaks
  • small amount of fat
  • 1 1/2 c. rice
  • 1 medium diced onion
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 green pepper
  • 1 sliced onion
  • 1 large can tomatoes, crushed

Method

  • Brown steaks in small amount of fat and set aside.
  • In same frying pan, brown (saute) rice and 1 medium diced onion.
  • When browned, pour rice into 3-quart casserole.
  • Overlap pork shoulder steaks on rice.
  • Salt and pepper to taste.
  • Cover meat with green pepper and 1 sliced onion.
  • Pour over all the tomatoes.
  • Cover and bake at 350° for 1 hour.
  • Uncover and brown for a few minutes if desired.
