Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • 4 4 ounce cube steaks
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • Granulated garlic
  • 8 slices home style Italian bread, buttered on bottom sides
  • 4 slices American cheese
  • 2 cups Italian peppers in tomato sauce

Method

  • Melt butter and oil in a large skillet. Season cube steaks on both sides with salt, pepper and garlic. Add to skillet and fry until done. Remove from skillet. Place steaks on each of 4 slices of home style Italian bread. Top with cheese and peppers. Top with other slice of bread, buttered side up. Place in skillet or grill pan and grill until cheese is melted. Serves 4.
