- 4 (1/2-inch thick) pork chops
- 2 chicken bouillon cubes
- 1 to 1 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. sugar
- 1 medium carrot, chopped
- mashed potatoes (optional)
- 1 Tbsp. vegetable oil
- 1 1/2 c. boiling water
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
- 2 medium stalks celery, chopped
- 1 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
Method
- Brown pork chops on both sides in hot oil in a large skillet; drain pan drippings.
- Put bouillon cubes in boiling water; stir until dissolved.
- Stir in remaining ingredients; pour over pork chops in skillet.
- Bring to a boil; cover and simmer for 1 hour or until tender.
- Serve over mashed potatoes if desired.
- Yields 4 servings.
