Ingredients

  • 6 pork loin chops, cut 3/4-inch thick
  • 2 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
  • 2 Tbsp. cooking oil
  • 1 (14 oz.) jar spiced pear halves
  • ground nutmeg

Method

  • Trim fat from chops.
  • Coat chops with mixture of the flour, 3/4 teaspoon salt and a dash of pepper.
  • Brown chops on both sides in hot oil.
  • Place chops in 12 x 7 1/2 x 2-inch baking dish. Drain pears.
  • Reserve 1/2 cup syrup.
  • Set pears aside.
  • Pour syrup over meat.
  • Cover; place in 350° oven for 45 minutes.
  • Add pears; sprinkle with nutmeg.
  • Cook until heated through, 10 to 15 minutes more.
  • Serves 6.
