Ingredients
- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 1 tsp. ginger
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 (13 oz.) can evaporated milk
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 Tbsp. oil
- 4 to 4 1/2 c. flour
Method
- Dissolve yeast, ginger, 1 tablespoon sugar and water in a warm bowl until it bubbles about 10 minutes.
- Then add 2 tablespoons sugar, evaporated milk, salt and oil.
- Add flour one cup at a time until dough is heavy and thick.
- Sprinkle on enough flour to handle then divide into two halves.
- Put in two well greased coffee cans (1 pound) and cover with well-greased plastic lids. Let stand in warm place to rise.
