Ingredients
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 or 2 cloves garlic or garlic salt
- 3 Tbsp. oil
- 1 (28 oz.) can tomatoes
- 1 (10 1/2 oz.) can tomato puree
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 tsp. dried basil
- 2 tsp. oregano
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
Method
- Saute onion and garlic in oil in large pan.
- Add tomatoes, puree and seasonings; simmer for about 1 hour.
- When cooked down and quite thick, remove bay leaf.
- Taste for seasonings.
- Add if necessary.
- Pour over pizza dough.
- Add cheese and toppings of your choice.
- Bake at 450° for 15 to 20 minutes.
