Ingredients
- 1/3 c. butter
- 1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
- 8 pineapple slices, well drained (save juice)
- 3/4 c. walnut halves
- 1/4 c. cherries
- 1 pkg. yellow cake mix, using reserved pineapple juice
- 1 tsp. corn syrup (white)
Method
- Melt butter in sheet cake pan, 9 x 12-inch.
- Add syrup and brown sugar.
- Heat until it boils.
- Then remove from heat. Arrange pineapple slices over syrup.
- Then fill spaces with walnuts and cherries.
- Mix cake as directed on box, using reserved juice as part of liquid.
- Bake at 350° for 35 to 45 minutes or until done.
