Ingredients

  • 1/3 c. butter
  • 1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
  • 8 pineapple slices, well drained (save juice)
  • 3/4 c. walnut halves
  • 1/4 c. cherries
  • 1 pkg. yellow cake mix, using reserved pineapple juice
  • 1 tsp. corn syrup (white)

Method

  • Melt butter in sheet cake pan, 9 x 12-inch.
  • Add syrup and brown sugar.
  • Heat until it boils.
  • Then remove from heat. Arrange pineapple slices over syrup.
  • Then fill spaces with walnuts and cherries.
  • Mix cake as directed on box, using reserved juice as part of liquid.
  • Bake at 350° for 35 to 45 minutes or until done.
