Ingredients

  • 1 lb. vanilla wafers
  • 2 sticks butter
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 large crushed pineapple
  • 4 large bananas
  • 1 pt. whipping cream or 1 large Cool Whip

Method

  • Cream butter and sugar; add 1 egg, beating 3 minutes after each egg.
  • Add vanilla.
  • Spread 2/3 of the crushed vanilla wafers into a buttered 9 x 14-inch Pyrex dish.
  • Spread creamed mixture over crumbs.
  • Top with drained pineapple; add a layer of sliced bananas.
  • Top with whipped cream or Cool Whip.
  • Sprinkle remaining crumbs on top.
  • Chill overnight.
