Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c. graham flour
  • 2 c. flour
  • 2 tsp. soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. brown sugar (light or dark)
  • 1/2 c. molasses
  • 2 c. buttermilk or sour milk

Method

  • Measure into cup the graham flour and then turn into a large bowl.
  • Sift into the bowl over the graham flour the 2 cups flour, soda, salt and brown sugar.
  • Mix together lightly the molasses and buttermilk or sour milk and add to the flour mixture.
  • Mix and turn into well-greased 9 x 5-inch loaf pan.
  • Bake at 350° for about 1 hour.
  • Turn out to cool.
